  So glad to be home from the hospital!

  this past mon.

  i had to have a hysterectomy and some other repairs.

  i told the doc that since i'm going under anyway, if you see something that needs fixing, do it....and he went to town!

  ((((3rdgen))) I just recently had surgery too , a tumor and ovary removed . I had complications with the pain medication afterwards too . Now is the time to connect with your neighbors ! Don't turn down any offers of help it could be a bridge to new friendships .

  I was so lucky that my new group of friends offered to bring food by the first week after surgery . Don't be afraid to open yourself up to a neighbor or a new friend, and let them know you need help (bonds of real friendships are built this way , most people love to help others )

  The sadness passes ....you need to rest ,rest ,rest !

  Are you over the gas pains yet ? Those were bad ... gasX and Ducolax are your friends .

  My JW sibling & his family are coming over friday night

  so, at my house we have a christmas party annually.

  i told my koolaid drinking bro that i'd tone down the xmas part if he and his family would come and they said 'yes'.. my parents and other siblings are very merrily shocked.. my question to this board is....what should i do or say or not do or say to keep the peace should jw topics arise?.

  i guess i'm looking for advice to get them to think without scaring them off.. thanks,.

  I don't think this is the weekend for getting them to "think ". Let actions speak louder than words ! Just be a family have fun keep it light and enjoyable . Let them see what they are missing .

  everytime i read a page of topics, i can't help but accept that the witness religion is such a fraud.. keep up the good work in exposing the watchtower society!.

  Yes this site helped me stay out !

  There was a time after I first faded that I was so lonely, I thought about going back just for fellowship . So glad I didn't fall into that trap . It takes time to adjust after leaving .In fact in my case I think three yrs was the turning point where I finally felt myself feel adjusting into normal life . At first you are still looking over your shoulder ,still using trigger words "the truth ","the Brothers" ect .... Slowly you do move on from all that .

  Coming here and reading others stories reaffirmed to me I was not alone or crazy !

  I read the personal stories ,I do not read the doctrine threads or debates . I now take long breaks from posting and it feels good to do that . I no longer want to think about anything witness related . Recently i have been back on because I have been home recuperaiting ,but I will be on less again once I am back to work .

  wow ....i posted on my facebook account the article from the huffington post , about shunning /bullying .

  a relative that was raised a witness ,but never baptised responded .

  her response does not make much sense to me .. first she says : i m so sorry it took you 30 yrs to understand :-( luckily i knew better at a young age :-( but ended up with a hard life due to no family.

  Then she says : But it angers you ... let it go ;-) Be Happy! I truly beleive... that of all religions out there that the JW's follow closest with the Bible's wishes. However, I do not beleive its it either...... so there the story lies.. there must ne a higher power... I believe this.

  I don't want to stir a bee's nest up with her ,but seriously how can she still think they are the closest religion to the Bible ? I won't respond about this matter anymore with her because I do respect her choice of belief ,but I really don't get it ....

  Oh well , I am not consumed with anger ,however if I see an article that exposes the Jehovah's Witness beliefs to the general public I will . I want my friends to know the real truth about the religion that knocks at their doors . I also feel free to express my thoughts now ,and I don't need anyone to tell me how to feel or not feel !

  want any old JW literature ?

  omg i can not believe the amount of literature we accumilated over the years as jw's !

  i threw away two full garbage cans full of bound volumes two yrs ago .a year before that i threw all the loose magazines away .

  i kept one box of my moms really old stuff in the garage .

  I threw away two full garbage cans full of bound volumes two yrs ago .A year before that I threw all the loose magazines away . I kept one box of my moms really old stuff in the garage . Today I was cleaning out a bookcase cupboard and found the whole bottom shelf was JW literature .....there was a bag of KM's from 2006 back to early 1990's. All the copies of study books back at least twenty yrs . Unopened video tapes .

  GOOD Grief ......Did you realize just how over loaded we were with this stuff when you were a JW ???

  I threw a lot away ,but something makes me hold on to some of this crap I will never look at ....why is that ? sentimental ....or just wanting to keep proof around on what crazy beliefs we use to have ?

  What the hell is wrong with this woman?

  mother discovers kid's self harm, asks why, accepts explanation of 'i dunno', ignores it,.

  a year later discovers it again and does not ask why, just declares that the kid will be pulled out of school and sent to another and be sent to a psychologist if it does not stop by new year.. wtf?.

  to me its like this woman is saying ''i don't care why you did it, i don't want to know, just stop it.

  This child is suffering inner emotional turmoil and does not know how to deal with it in a healthy manner .

  Oz if this is your child ,or one you have any contact with i suggest addressing the issue immediately . No ignoring the issue IT IS REAL, and not going away . A school counselor could be the first step in the right direction . Take the initiative if you are in a position of influence .

  This Mom is afraid to face the problem ,that is just not a good excuse when you are a parent .
